Euan's Testimonals

I have known Euan for approximately 3 years since he started playing at Huddersfield Lawn Tennis And Squash Club. Throughout this time he has moved through the Mini Tennis colours and is now gearing up for full ball competition. In my time as a coach, I have not seen one individual play as much tennis as Euan, whether that be with children of a similar age, students, or adults, which clearly shows his enthusiasm and love of the game. His tennis within this time has seen endless improvement. On court Euan has a great understanding of what it requires to WIN, for someone who is only 10 years old is quite remarkable. Only time and dedication will tell what the future holds for this promising individual. The start of 2011 has seen him reach Number 1 in the rankings and the National finals at Roehampton. Keep up the good work Euan! I wish him every success in the future.

Euan has been a member of Huddersfield Lawn Tennis and Squash Club for the last two and a half years and I have been delighted to see his excellent progress during this period.

His competition record not only reveals some wonderful success but also gives testimony to a very diligent work ethic. Representing his county on several occasions at under 10 level and rising to top place on the LTA Under 10 National Tour Leader Board have been the highlights so far.  I particularly enjoyed watching Euan play in the prestigious Under 10’s County Cup held at Bolton Arena last year where he was competing with the top players in the country.

His enthusiasm for the sport is a joy to see. He is very regularly spotted practising throughout the year on court with just about anyone he can persuade to “give him a game” !  As well as playing with his peers he is most keen to find opportunities to hit with much older and more experienced players, developing in particular the mental side of his game, confidence and morale.

As a club director it is particularly refreshing to see Euan keen to help other players younger and not as proficient as himself. Despite having a very busy tennis schedule he still finds time to support club activities, helping coaches, playing in teams etc and through the guidance of his parents is encouraged  to “give as well as take”.

Euan is fortunate to have parents that are extremely supportive of and interested in his tennis development. The commitment that Noamaan and Ann display is already immense and I continue to wish them well in Euan’s journey.

I have played tennis with Euan since summer 2010, having met him at the Calderdale Tennis Championships. Euan won both the under13's and the under 16's during this tournament. This is a great feat from anyone, never mind a boy of only ten years of age. He is a fantastic talent, with a passion for the game that I have rarely seen. Often you see 'pushy' tennis parents. However, in the case of Norm and Ann who provide endless support to him, Euan is the one who is constantly wanting to play more and more. The success that he has had at such a young age is credit to both his talent and tireless hard work. Not only is Euan a credit to everyone who has been involved in his tennis, he is also a lovely young boy and I hope is able to continue a successful tennis career in the years to come.
